Letters from Customers
Q. What can I do with my dry hair. The ends are breaking off. What am I doing wrong?
A. You need to give your hair lots of TLC, our REDKEN products are designed to restore your hair’s moisture level to its optimum 8%. Look for shampoos that contain natural humectants (magnet like properties to attract moisture), that will work together will your natural oils, to restore your hair’s moisture level to its optimum 8%. Treatment conditioners that contain wheat, rice or corn proteins will repair damaged cuticles, improve porosity, elasticity and general health and appearance of your hair.
Those of us with naturally curly, wavy or frizzy hair, or those of us who chemically treat our hair. Will need to give our hair extra nurturing by supplying our hair with the necessary nutrition and moisture that it needs. Chemical treatments (I.e. perms, hair dyes or bleaches.), will deplete the hair of moisture. bringing the hair moisture level own to as low as 2%. When this occurs you will start to notice split ends. If these are not repaired forthwith and the moisture level not restored to 8%, Your split ends will turn to breakage. This obviously needs to be avoided at all costs. Those of us who live in hot, sunny or arid climates; need to make sure that our hair care product contain sunscreens to protect our hair from the damaging affects of the UV rays. If not the same thing will happen as to those of use that use chemicals on our hair.
Q. Is there a difference between the shampoo you sell at your salon than the shampoo I purchase at my local store?
A. Yes! Our REDEKEN product line is a professional hair product. Each product is tested for it's intended use. It takes years of research before a product is released. When you purchase our products from our salon you know you have a proven and tested product that is great for your hair and for your health!
Q. I know that you do hair but what other services do you offer?
A. We offer a full array of nail services. In addition to the nails we offer Spa Pedicures, Waxing for brows, lips and facials.
Q. What can I do to stop the breakage and thinning? My hair is breaking too much and thinning out also. What can I do to stop the breakage and thinning?
A. The first thing you must do, if you haven't done so already, is to get yourself to a professional who can actually see your hair and assess the problem. Most of us have problems with breaking and/or thinning hair at some point in our lives, due to a variety of possible causes. Heredity is the greatest factor in determining our hair type. Does this hair problem occur in other family members? Are you stressed out? Are you taking a particular medication that could be causing the problems? Sometimes we have to get to the "root" of the problem, before we find the cure. Sometimes illness can be a major contributing factor in hair loss. As you can see, without being able to see your hair it is difficult to help, but I'll try, just in case consulting a professional is not feasible right now. Keep your hair washed and conditioned at least once a week. Do not apply too much tension when washing your hair, instead massage gently. Use a good protein shampoo and conditioner that also contain strengthening agents, but be careful not to over condition. I hate to sound like a broken record, but this is again where the professional comes in. There are plenty of products available. Seek advice on some of these products at a beauty and barber supply store if you are unable to get to a stylist. Stay away from harsh, hot blow dryers, hot combs, and curling irons if you can. These will only further damage the hair. Oil your scalp if you must, but please use something light. You must keep your hair trimmed, at least every two months to prevent split ends. As we all know, split ends cause the hair to become weaker and it will break if left in this state. Be as gentle to your hair as you can right now. Also, one more very important thing: Be good to your entire body! Eat well balanced meals and try to exercise as often as you can. Good luck and let me know how you make out!
